I am Chef Shyam Bahadur Lama, often known as Chef Shyam Lama Wang — a passionate culinary professional from Nepal with over three decades of dedication to the art of cooking and culinary education.
My journey began with a dream: to introduce the world to Nepal’s vibrant flavors, rich food traditions, and the soulful essence of our kitchens. Over the years, I’ve served as the President of the Chefs Association of Nepal, culinary educator, and consultant, working tirelessly to uplift Nepalese gastronomy both nationally and globally.
Having trained and mentored thousands of aspiring chefs, I’ve focused on blending tradition with innovation — from local kitchens to international hospitality platforms. I believe that every dish should carry a story of our land, people, and passion.
Beyond cooking, I advocate for food safety, gender inclusion in hospitality, and the global recognition of Nepal’s culinary heritage. My mission is to inspire the next generation of chefs to take pride in Nepali cuisine and share it with the world.
